TELUS STORYHIVE Empowered Filmmaker Program

TELUS STORYHIVE is excited to announce that applications for our Empowered Filmmaker program are now open for the RMWB Region!
This all-inclusive, Indigenous-focused program offers training, equipment, and mentorship to Indigenous communities throughout B.C and Alberta since 2017. Empowered Filmmaker has empowered over 545 filmmakers to produce 180 films by providing comprehensive training, equipment, and support.
Led by professional filmmaker Farhan Umedaly, the program features a five-day intensive filmmaking workshop. Participants gain the skills and confidence to become effective media content creators, even with no prior experience. Each program concludes with a community film festival, complete with awards, camera giveaways, and more!
For the Fort McMurray Region the dates will be June 7-12, 2025 from 9:00am-5:00pm and the location will be determined.
