Harvest has an immediate opening for a Unit Operator reporting to the Shift Lead.
JOB DUTIES:
- Ensure that the Field/Process/De-oiling Team’s equipment and processes are optimized to maximize equipment capacities and minimize operating costs;
- Monitor SAGD well pairs and production and injection equipment performance, chemical use, and energy optimization to identify opportunities for improvement;
- Participate in team troubleshooting of equipment and processes;
- Help to identify reliability issues and inefficiencies;
- Follow procedures, standards and specifications pertaining to Unit Operations;
- Issue safe work permits and monitor maintenance activities to ensure site safety policies are followed;
- Operate small machinery including; fork-lift, man-lift, skid steer, and off-road vehicles;
- Identify maintenance requirements and initiate work orders as required;
- Recognize and recommend actions to improve production and cost performance;
- Monitor production and record results;
- Prepare log books, unit check sheets and rounds;
- Monitor injection rates of chemicals and make adjustments to optimize chemical treatmentperformance;
- Recognize, diagnose and correct equipment problems in the field;
- Participate in the development of initial and ongoing training programs and operation manuals;
- Assist in conducting training sessions, provide on-the-job instruction to enable team members to develop skills required to participate effectively and advance within our operations;
- Good communication skills and ability to multitask;
- Ability to develop safe work procedures and LOTO’s as needed;
- Maintain all required safety certification and regulatory courses; and
- Other duties may apply
QUALIFICATION:
- High School Diploma
- Minimum Third Class, preference for a Second Class
- Graduate from a Power Engineering, Petroleum, or Chemical Technology Diploma or Heavy Oil Operations Technician Certificate program is a definite asset
- 3-7 years operations experience
- Must have a good understanding of SAGD well pair injection and production operations, production, injection and testing equipment, source water and observation wells, and auxiliary systems
- Familiar with facility drawings and specifications
- CSU experience is a definite asset
- Team player with strong leadership, mentorship and communication skills
- Committed to best practices in health, safety and environmental management
- Ethical business conduct and community responsibility
- Self –motivated, open-minded and results oriented
- Good PC Skills
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
