ROLE
We are currently recruiting for an upcoming project in Conklin, AB for the winter months of 2022/2023. The Truck Driver is responsible for transporting heavy equipment to and from our multiple Surerus storage, laydown, and project sites, as directed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Drive safely and follow company regulations and driving laws.
• Load and unload heavy equipment.
• Secure loads safely.
• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
• Journey Management.
• Keep a clean general appearance of the vehicle.
• Ensure vehicle logs are filled out properly.
• Maintain adequate fluid/tire levels.
• Conduct daily safety inspections (pre and post trip).
• Spot for various types of equipment.
Note: In addition to these duties personnel are required to carry out such other duties as may be reasonably required in order to support the objectives of the company.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
• Valid class 1 driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Defensive Driver Training is considered an asset.
• Minimum age requirement of 25 years (for insurance purposes).
• Various safety tickets as required depending on project.
Skills and Knowledge
• Knowledge of pipeline construction industry preferable.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is field based and often works within remote project locations. Travel and/or living in temporary accommodations may be required.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The Truck Driver reports to the Truck Push. The position has no supervisory duties.
