ROLE
The Project Coordinator is responsible for providing assistance to senior staff (Project Managers, Construction Managers & Operational Managers) through the coordination and collection of data relevant to scheduling, quantity surveying, reporting and document control functions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist in project estimates, change order estimates and project closeout reviews.
• Liaise with clients, engineering firms, consultants and sub-trades.
• Assist with the maintenance of project schedule and quantity schedule.
• Assist with the tracking of project resources (labour, equipment and third-party services).
• Assist with the change management process (estimates, logs and timesheets).
• Assist with the setup, issuance and tracking of contract documentation.
• Assist with the subcontract management.
• Collect and compile project progress data on a daily basis.
• Involved in the project closeout activities by coordinating documentation including deficiencies, warranties, maintenance and final payments.
• Ensure that all work is completed accurately (i.e. survey).
• Obtain and provide written documentation for all clarifications and instructions, attends all regular meetings.
Note: In addition to these duties personnel are required to carry out such other duties as may be reasonably required in order to support the objectives of the company.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- High School Diploma.
- Graduate of technical diploma program, and/or combination of education and relevant experience.
Experience
- 2 – 4 years of experience in a similar position.
- Experience in the pipeline construction industry is considered an asset.
Skills and Knowledge
- Understanding of the oil and gas construction industry.
- Ability to read and understand relevant construction documents.
- Basic knowledge of scheduling and/or cost control.
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of scheduling software is considered an asset.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is based in our permanent office locations or in a site office environment within remote project locations. Travel and/or living in temporary accommodations may be required.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The Project Coordinator reports to the Project Controls Lead or Project Manager. The position has no supervisory duties.
