Opportunity

The Conklin Resource Development Advisory Committee (CRDAC) is facilitating its 2024 annual Conklin Cultural Harvesting Camp event at Sterner Lake; located 51 kilometers East of Conklin. The CRDAC is seeking to fill various open positions to help us facilitate this years’ Conklin Cultural Harvesting Camp.

Position Type/Hours

This is a temporary – contract position working four days from August 21 to 22 (camp set-up) and August 26 to 27 (camp take-down). This position will report to CRDAC’s Environmental & Events Coordinator or designate.

Responsibilities

The General Labourer will assist in setting up and taking down the canvas tents and tipis at the Cultural Harvesting Camp to ensure proper initial set-up, safety, storage, and end of camp clean-up. The General Labourer may be requested to assist in other repairs or general tasks.

Requirements

  • A valid class 5 driver’s licence is recommended and an asset.
  • Ability to climb to heights, lift, and conduct work safely and properly.
  • Possess adequate understanding of setting up a camp.
  • Possess excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and have the ability to direct or lead volunteers.
  • Ability to remain neutral in conflicts and diffuse situations in a professional and mature manner.

Working Conditions

  • Moderate physical demands such as standing for long periods of time will require stamina and endurance.
