There are 39 active wildfires in the Lac La Biche Forest Area (includes Conklin area).
Of the total 39 active wildfires, 22 are out of control, 11 are being held, and 6 are under control.
LWF136 was detected July 14 and is out of control at 214 hectares in size. This wildfire is located approximately 15 km northwest of the community of Janvier. Tonight, Forestry plans to use night-vision capable helicopters to help suppress this wildfire. The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB) has issued an evacuation alert for the hamlet of Janvier.
