Kettle River Complex Wildfire Update
Following recent rainfall and aerial assessment by fire operations staff, four of the smaller fires from the Kettle River Complex saw a change in their status of control this morning:
- LWF139 – Being Held – 0.1 ha
- LWF140 – Under Control – 0.5 ha
- LWF143 – Being Held – 0.4 ha
- LWF168 – Being Held – 0.6 ha
LWF136
The status of this wildfire has changed to BEING HELD. Fire behaviour on LWF136 was reported as minimal near the fire’s perimeter. The fire remains located approximately 12 km northwest of the community of Janvier at a size of 765 ha.
Weather
Weather stations within the Kettle River Complex recorded an 15-17 mm of rainfall overnight to the morning of July 27. Forecasted relative humidity levels are expected to stay above 50 per cent for the next several days which is expected to keep fire behaviour minimal.
