Kettle River Complex Wildfire Status
There are 138 firefighters and support personnel, 7 helicopters, and 14 pieces of heavy equipment assigned to the wildfire complex.
The RMWB has issued an evacuation alert for the hamlet of Janvier.
Highway 881 North and Highway 63 North and South bound are currently closed due to the fires being very close to the highways. An organized cold front will likely move across the fire complex tomorrow afternoon/evening with winds shifting from southeast to southwest-west 15-20 km/h around 4-5 pm. then shifting again around 7 pm to W-NW 15-20 km/hr. Cooler and humid conditions will return to the fire area by Wednesday with the possibility of light to moderate rain and/showers bringing 5-10 mm of precipitation.

The status of this wildfire is OUT OF CONTROL, and it is located approximately 15 km northwest of the community of Janvier. It is currently estimated at 500 ha in size. Fire Crews observed fire activity along the west side of the fire. Today, heavy equipment continued to build containment line using dozers. Firefighters continued to reinforced the containment lines using water pumps and hose.

This wildfire was detected July 16. It is classified as OUT OF CONTROL at 406 ha. There are industrial facilities within a 10 km radius to the wildfires.
LWF164
This wildfire was detected July 17. It is located approximately 12 km northeast of Conklin along Highway 881. It is classified as OUT OF CONTROL at 936 ha. The fire did not cross the MEG Energy egress, however, it has now crossed highway 881 causing road closures in both directions.
