Wildfire Status Updates
The fire jumped the highway near the access to MEG. It’s travelling away from Conklin. CRDAC has spoken with Cenovus. They will help the community out financially with busses and any other expenses we have in relation to the fires. We spoke with the RCMP detachment commander, the highway closed from KM 170 to KM 213.
People from Conklin can get out and travel south and people from Janvier can get out and travel north. No other traffic is being allowed in through that stretch. They will keep CRDAC updated. Regional Fire Crews are fighting the fire from the point where it crossed the highway & water bombers are hitting the fire. LFW171- It was just located at noon today. It is about 60 ha & 5 km south of Sterner CRDAC is speaking with Centre Fire regarding this fire. Once we have a better update regarding this new fire we will send it out.
Conklin is NOT on alert at the time. If things change a text will be sent out right away.
