Métis Credible Assertion: Conklin

Feb 14, 2024 | Announcement

The Conklin Resource Development Advisory Committee (CRDAC), the authorized agent on behalf of the Conklin Métis Local 193 (“CML 193”), has submitted an application to the Government of Alberta (GoA) to formally establish credible assertion. Upon approval, Alberta will be required to mandate that Conklin be consulted on all and future regulatory applications within its traditional territory.

The CRDAC is pleased to let membership be aware that the the process is nearly finalized and approved with one last item left outstanding – a reauthorization to the CRDAC to be your continued representative on projects that affect the community.

There will be two upcoming events where CRDAC will be present to answer any questions related to the Métis Credible Assertion process:

Café Workshop – February 28, 2024

Community Betterment Session

A more formal Community Betterment Session will be held on March 13, 2024 to allow for members to ask questions and engage our Administration on this important topic.

Alternatively, you can submit your reauthorization directly online, via email, to info@crdac.ca. You can download the form below.

If you have questions or would like to discuss further, please contact Scott Duguid at (780) 264-8232.
