LWF090 remains out of control and is currently estimated at 61,551 hectares. The wildfire is located approximately 17 km east of Conklin.
Operational Update
- Structure protection efforts continue in coordination between Alberta Wildfire and the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB).
- Eight cabins on the north side of Christina Lake have been outfitted with protection measures, with work ongoing over the next several days.
- Fire crews have made progress on fire guard construction around the community, this has been completed.
Smoke and Weather Conditions
- Heavy smoke is visible in the area due to LWF090 and additional wildfires to the west in the Slave Lake Forest Area.
- There was no growth on the fire overnight, aided by cooler temperatures and moisture.

- Rain showers are forecast to continue intermittently today, which may help firefighting efforts.

Sunday has a high of 18°C. A mix of sun and cloud today, with a 60 per cent chance of showers and risk of thunderstorms. Wind will be coming out of the northwest at 30 km/h gusting to 50-55 km/h into the afternoon.
