LWF090 was detected Monday afternoon. It is OUT OF CONTROL. Scanning conducted last night has given a more accurate understanding of the size of the wildfire which is now listed at and estimated 61,551 ha. This wildfire is burning 17 km east of Conklin.
Alberta Wildfire and RMWB are working together to review structure protection plans and structure protection has also been placed on cabins on the North side of Christina Lake. They will continue this work throughout the day.
Heavy smoke may be seen in the area from LWF090 and fires to the west in Slave Lake Forest Area have decreased fire behaviour during the day on overnight. Rain played a key role in preventing movement on the fire overnight. More rain in some areas is expected again today.
There are crews and dozers working on the northwest side of the fire this morning.

Sunday has a high of 15°C. Periods of rain ending in the afternoon then a mix of sun and cloud is expected. Winds coming out of the Northwest at 30 km/h gusting to 50-55 km/h.
