Congratulations, Conklin, we have achieved a major milestone. 

Our first round of new homes will be installed and approved, and many will be moved into by mid to late October. Those who have been selected for homes at Jack Pine Place Subdivision have been notified. If you have not been selected and have applied for housing, your application will be reviewed for the next round of housing applications in phase two.

There are so many people to thank.  First is you, our community, for ensuring that housing was always a top priority for your leadership and governments.

Next, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to our funding partners, including the Government of Alberta, Cenovus, CRDAC, and others. Their support and resources have been crucial in making this large-scale project a reality, and we couldn’t have done it without them.

CHAC UPDATE

Next is the Conklin Housing Advisory Committee (CHAC), a subcommittee set up by the CRDAC to help provide objective policy, scoring, eligibility/selection criteria, and valuable input to the community’s housing plan. They did an amazing and difficult job. However, now that the committee’s work is done, and in order to be respectful of people’s time, the CRDAC Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to disband the subcommittee until the Board is ready to deem otherwise.

We want to take the time and opportunity to thank each member of CHAC who has dedicated their time and effort in completing an enormous task for our community, and those members are:

We understand that there are more people in our community in need. If you were not selected for a home in this round of allocations, we know this may be disappointing.  However, we are currently in the process of accepting applications for a second round of housing, using the policies, scoring, and criteria developed by CHAC. More information is available below.

We still need to do much more in our community, but this was a crucial start.  Congratulations again.

By the end of this year, we anticipate eight more units to arrive at Poplar Crescent and Spruce Drive, six 3-bedroom/2-bath units and two 2-bedroom/2-bath units:

For individuals and families interested in applying for Conklin Housing through CRDAC, please complete the Conklin Community Housing Intake Form (the “Application”). The Application is intended to be submitted online by either clicking “Submit Form” on the application or by downloading the PDF Application and submitting it to the attention of the Housing Operations Manager at housing@crdac.ca.
