Benthic Invertebrate Sampling Training

Environmental and Climate Change Canada is looking for community members to clean and implement the techniques and purposes of the benthic invertebrate sampling in conjunction with the Oil Sands Monitoring Program.
Students will be able to develop an understanding, learn, and become certified in nationally standardized protocols of: stream structure, benthic invertebrate kick techniques, sample processing, and the fundamentals of surface water quality.
Transportation to site must be arranged via personal vehicle, sites will be within a one hour drive from Conklin.
Participants should expect approximately two eight hour and one four hour days of work and learning.
Successful completion will accredit the student with Field Assistant Certification.
